Where is the ignition coil?
People tell me I need a new coil for my 89 F150. It starts and runs but when I turn it off after 10 or 15
minutes of running, it won't restart. Where is the coil located?
Your probably looking for the TFI ignition module, it's located on the side of your distributor. A sign of a failing TFI is the car will cut out when warm, and only start when the engine cools down.
I changed the ignition coil. But I still have the problem. It seems to be better now, but not by much. When I try to start the second time, it keeps turning over until I push the accelerator to the floor and hold it and it starts but sputtering. I guess I need to look into the distributor next. But I'm not sure what I'll be looking for. Any ideas?
i agree with Tom,those fords are knowed ford the ignition module on the distidutor.its not the same sa the ignition coil.
I agree with the others. had a mustang do it as well. 2- 5.5mm screws and a plug. $55 at parts shop.
