Can you be a little more specific? Did it always drop off? Are you carrying a load? Is the tranny shifting correctly? Is the engine missing?

Best thing is to be tuned up, good plugs and plug wires, new air cleaner, fresh fuel filiter. if that doesnt do much i would do a compression check, do it if when you put new plugs in, it will tell you if your motors tired or is having a problem in a particular cylinder. if everything is in good shape you maybe just have too tall gearing to make a good hill climber.

i have 180 thousand miles on it it is a 5 speed and it still does it even after a complete tune up

Well tuned up is good. at 180 thousand miles the motor isnt exactly fresh but can be a good running motor. I have had one motor that had 280 thousand miles on it and it compressioned out at 90 pounds a cylinder. the same motor in anouther car i am driving has a third the mileage and test at 120 pounds a cylinder. guess what one gets better mileage and power. They both have 5 speeds and even the wore out one will do 60 up over the hills i pull but it will be in 4th. the nice thing about your 5 speed is you can drop a gear on the bottom of the hill and give it heck in fourth gear. you wont loose 20 mph and is easier on the motor than lugging it up the hill in 5th i am sure it is only doing 1800 rpm in high gear. basically its overdrive, not for pulling

i have done it all. still will not pull hills if you hold the brakes and push the gas it bogs down and will not pick up speed.
