Battery Drain after Replacing Ground Cables

Last week my 1986 Ford F150 (300 inline 6) had an issue where the
solenoid was getting stuck and causing the starter not to shut off. I replaced
the starter and solenoid, but two days later it happened again. I checked the
negative ground cables coming off the battery and found that the cable was
badly corroded at the connection with the truck frame.

Since no-one manufactures the OE cable, I bought two new 4 G cables. The
first I ran to the starter block. The second I ran from the starter block (same
bolt) to the frame. The truck started up fine.

When I got home from work about 10 hours later I went to start the truck and
just got a click. Dead battery. Is it the cable configuration or am I missing
something else?

WELL DID YOU DO HAVE A BAD DEAD CELL IN THE BATTERY?LOAD TEST IT.. /CHECK FOR A DRAW?? A GROUND FROM THE BODY TO THE FRAME AND THE STARTER TI THE BATTERY AND THE BATTERY TO THE BODY..DRAW CHECK IT WITH THE IGN. ON AND OFF..ALSO CHECK THE IGN.SWITCH ..IS THE STARTER SHIMMED RIGHT

You have something else going on, ground is a ground. Probably need to check for a parasitic draw on the battery. Check this sight out... www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRso1A0VScw
