Breaks on my Ford F-150 1982

I have a 1982 Ford F-150 and the brakes have
gotten so bad they hardly stop when you push them
all the way in. The red break light is also on. What's
wrong how do I fix this?

Check the brake linings first on both front and rears, if they are bad replace the linings and the replace the wheel cylinders on the rear, adjust the brakes and then throughly flush the brakes system, after that then check the pedal if it still goes to the floor then replace the brake master cylinder and rebleed the brakes just to make sure you got all the air out of the system.
