What is the biggest engine i can put into my '78 ford f-150 ranger

I have a 1978 ford f-150 ranger and am
starting to do repairs and restore it but i
have no clue what the engine is in it
currently as i got this truck from my father in
law after he passed and i dont kno much
bout it. I would like to swap out the old
engine in it for a brand new one just like im
going to do with all the parts in the truck but
idk what is the biggest engine i can put into
it.

you should consider researching 302 crate motors, they also have retro-fitted kits that can help you mount it right. If you go that route, youll must likely have to swap your trans and rear too

Check the motorcraft website. You may be able to get a remanufactured engine with 100K warranty if you want to keep it original.
