is there an overdrive tranny that will swap onto my 1977 F150 4X4 390 FE?

would like to swap on a later model standard tranny with overdrive. Truck has the original
tranny bolted to a 390 FE. Will something bolt on? Or require an adaptor etc?

I haven't heard of any one doing this but that does not mean it hasn't been done. You might try gear vendor, they make overdrive units that bolt on to your existing standard trans.
