1981 corvette rod knocked a hole in oil mpan car will still run but motor shakes. 1.If a rod is broke or bent and went out the oil pan is the engine junk? 2.Is there any way of replacing just the bent or broke rod that put a hole in the oil pan
Can you take the broken rod out by taking the oilpan off to get to crankshaft to undo the broken or bent rod and can you get to the other end of the rod in the piston? Should the whole engine be rebuilt or can it be rebuilt or can a person fix just the damaged rod?
I think the engine would have to be rebuilt, i dont think there is any easy way of replacing a broken rod.
Thanks; Thats what I pretty well thought, but wanted someone elses opinion that has more knowledge of the lower motor components. I am still learning.
