I need to know of some classic cars that have good mileage
So basically ineed ideas for a classic car that is
good on gas. Whem i say classic i mean like chevy
impala classic, but it cant be that expensive and it
cant be that bad on gas this car being possibly my
first car. I fis not kbow where to ask this so i
thought why not on here.
Define good?? What do you mean?
an old fashioned "volts wagen" with a 40hp motor in place of the 40 hp VW engine...you of course have the exact crappy handling of the first VW....but it's electric...used to find the kits on ebay...dunno now..but you could search for the electric beetle~
search barn finds and get a scrapper to build of the exact same make and model...for example I still want another 59 pontiac and would not mind a GTO convertible...you can search for any once functional car to restore at barnfinds.com....it's neat just to look at what one could possibly invest in~
Almost all of the old school small blocks got good mileage, there were a few exceptions, What your looking for will have a 2 BBL carb, if you can find something with a standard trans it will get better mileage than and automatic, but all of the Chevy classic series vehicles had automatics, and most had 4BBL carbs, if you locked out the back 2 barrels they got fair mileage. HTH
Classic? I guess you mean American? Old European cars got good mileage because they are smaller and have tiny engines- you want something big? with a V8? Well, you can't have your cake and eat it too-
by the way, that is a photo of the biggest American V8 ever made- 500 cubic inches in the '76 Cadillac Eldorado- front wheel drive and as long as an aircraft carrier- wow
you could drive this "meatloaf" car...but you'd have to serve meatloaf to people all the time~
if you got into a wreck driving this oscarmeyer weenie car, you'd have some 'splainin' to do~
It's NOT an American car, but, an old Honda Accord from the 90s with a VTEC engine gets pretty decent mileage and performance. good luck..
a Toyota...you will Never find one broken down on the side of the road~ http://www.japanesevehicles.com/stocklist.php?make=TOYOTA
2006 Mini Cooper with the 1.6 liter engine gives me 20 miles to the gallon on the highway~...a turd...do not recommend these..but the ladies go berserk about a MINI~
