Does cruse control in my 1989 toyota corolla Have any influence on that brake light problem -above
1989 toyota corolla with cruise control.I lost my brake lights. All other lights with the exception of the rear drivers side marker light are working. The cruise control from the brake, would not cancel, first,But it would cancel from the clutch being depressed. Then the brake lights stopped working. All the fuses check out OK,As do all the bulbs. Every thing looks in good shape on the car no rust HELP.
The cruise control cancels when it receives a brake on signal from the brake light switch, so that is the first thing to check is to see if the brake light switch has power, if not repair the circuit, if it does then check brake switch operation, if the switch works properly then you have a broken circuit after the switch and you will have to trace it out, if the switch doesn't work then replace it and recheck your lights, if your now work then your cruse control should cancel also.
