toyota tacoma power steering problem
pump made grind noise when turning. replaced it. sound persisted. replaced rack and pinion. sound persisted. different mechanic
replaced power steering pump again. sound still there. what gives?
maybe it is not the pump? there other steering components that could squeak and grind and rattle. like your lower ball joints for example?
u should check if the rubber seal on the rack shaft is hard or not and also check the boots because the grease inside the boots becomes like hard and causes ware which makes noises
check your upper strut bearings could be going bad. they will make noises like that when the bearing start to bind
does it make noise only when turning? or also when going straight.
