"will it go off"???? What does that mean?

Terribly sorry, my mistake I was in a rush. It appears that the "Door open" switch on the trunk of my Camry is malfunctioning. It occurred to me to cut the wires, in the expectation that the warning light in the dash will turn off but I thought I should check with you first.

So......there is a warning light on the dash that suggests the Trunk Lid on this vehicle was left OPEN? Why not go to the rear of this vehicle and slam the trunk closed? If the warning light is still on....then we need to see if the bulb(light) is on or OFF when the trunk is closed. So...who is going to be willing to be locked in the trunk of your ca to check that out. If the light in the trunk goes on when the trunk is opened....that's good.....if not....you probably have a bad bulb. That may be why the warning light is ON. If the trunk light stays on all the time...even when the trunk is closed...That's bad.....the warning light will be on and your battery will eventually go dead. Not so good. There is a Switch in the trunk that operates that trunk light......but ....where is it?? More research is required.
