1999 Toyota Camry sat for a year.

Asked by Jul 13, 2015 at 09:39 PM about the 1999 Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, my 1999 Camry sat for over a year in the garage. Its running now but it has a tight pull in the steering wheel (when you turn left or right). I checked all fluids and they're at normal levels. However, noticed a puddle of fluid on the ground (right/front/driver side) today. There is a leak, the color of the fluid on the paper towel is a light brownish hue.

Any ideas about the steering tightness and fluid leaks.

Maybe it needs an alignment check.

More than likely will be leak in power steering hoses, pump or your rack and pinion.

And if tight steering the pump is most likely the problem.

Suggest you fill the power steering to the proper level. Start the vehicle and have someone turn steering wheel from extreme left to right several times while you look under vehicle with a strong light. If you can see exactly where the leak is ...we can determine what the repair might be. Take pictures if possible.
