what weight synethic oil to use for my 2002 solara 4 cyl in Nov. in NJ
Livei in New Jersey, coming into November; I am original owner; car has
145000 miles; runs good. I have to buy oil - friend offered to change oil and
save me some bucks. 5wx30 or 10wx30?
Also, cannot get engine light to shut off ; replaced both sensors and still it has
a will of its own...
Live in NJ - its Nov and I don't drive all that much.
5W30 for the winter, most newer cars use 5w30 year round but I like the 10w30 for summer. Engine light probably needs to be turned off by a computer code analyzer.
The oil grade may be listed on the oil fill cap on the engine. Good info at the link.....http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2001_Toyota_Solara_SL E_3.0L_V6_Coupe/oil/change_oil_and_oil_filter
Engine code needs to be investigated to determine the cause and have it repaired. If you know what the code number is please post it here and maybe someone can help you find the cause.
