2002 Toyota camry will shut off when at a stop, but the radio and air conditioning still works.

Asked by Sep 18, 2016 at 02:47 PM about the 2002 Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was at a stop sign today and my camry shut off, but the radio and air
conditioning was still on. I was able to get it started back up again pretty
quickly, but I'm worried about this repeating. The car has 140,000 miles on it.
The battery in it is pretty new. I don't know what could be causing this.

The radio and blower motor would work due to them being connected to the battery. So it would have power of the key was on. The stalling factor could be anything. Hard to tell with it only doing it once.intermediate issues are the hardest

Have you been noticing any warning lights ON or Flashing...like the Check Engine Light?

Valentine....what ever happened with the issue on this vehicle?

Just to update everyone in case someone else has this issue. I had the check engine light codes read and it said that not enough fuel was getting to the engine. All that had to be done was the throttle valve needed to be cleaned out. No more hesitation when I hit the gas and the check engine light is off now. Its only been a few days, but the car hasn't stalled out again. Thanks for your help.
