My Camry periodically won't start. Battery is fine. It appears that even though the shifter shows the car to be in park, the car doesn't think it is. Is there a way to manually override this?

It first did this a few weeks ago. The shifter cable has been replaced. It acts as if it is an
electrical problem, because we got it started once by jiggling the shifter handle and
retrying.

Check neutral safety switch. Check shifter cable. Could just be not adjusted correctly.

I have a 1999 Toyota Camry. I do not have the alarm door openers for the car. The car won't start and the battery has been changed. My brother said he had trouble with this on our mothers car years ago, but doesn't remember how to turn off the alarm. The alarm has now tripped with the new battery and the car is just sitting there. Cant afford a tow to a dealership nor the cost of the dealership for a fix. How do I turn off the alarm??? 2 answers

I have a 2012 Camry SE. It has sat awhile and the battery had died when I tried to start the car. I charged the battery and now rests at 12.5v. Now when I go to start the car there is no power at all to the inside of the car. No gauge lights come on when you turn the key, but the steering wheel can be turned and the car cannot be shifted into neutral. I checked all fuses, including the long ones that house the alternator, all check out fine. I used my dmm and I have power to alternator and starter. Security light is on inside the car. I have tried all three keys I have for the car with no avail. 6 answers

The engine on our 2013 Toyota Camry "blew" after we had been driving for about 150 miles. After the steam subsided, we lifted the hood and found the radiator cap laying on the surface. Toyota is refusing to honor the warranty even though the car has only 8100 miles on it. They insist that the radiator cap cannot blow off and that someone left it off. This car has not even had an oil change yet. There is no reason anyone would have removed the radiator cap. They say it could not have blown off. Is this real? 2 answers
