how do you get the old carrier bearing off the drive shaft?

the only part i know of to come off a drive shaft is the u joints and you can press or knock them out.

You may need to press it off or use a bearing puller. Worst case, heat it and beat it -- tap it off after putting a torch on it.

the only way to get it off is use a press to force it off and then back on. the drive shaft has to be split at the slip yoke then you can take it off and replace it. do not heat it! find some shop that has a press and bring the shaft to them, should only take about 20 minutes, atleast that is how long it takes me.

thanks, but notice a slip yok seal and threaded ring in the way, which is smaller than the yok gears, does this mean I have to replace them too??
