Not getting fuel to carb on 1995 Chevrolet Silverado

Asked by Oct 05, 2015 at 10:32 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tried a little gas in carb and it fired up.  It started 3 or 4 seconds then
died.  I checked fuses in fuse box on firewall....all good.  Is there a fuse for
fuel pump besides the one in the power contol box?

There is a relay for the fuel pump.

Just the one fuse and relay, you can try banging on the fuel tank while someone cranks the engine over, if your lucky it will start and run, then you know you have a bad fuel pump, if it doesn't start then you will have to check for battery power at the fuel pump connector, it will have voltage for a few seconds when you turn on the key then shut off, that will tell you that the activation circuit is good. If you have to replace the fuel pump you might as well replace the fuel filter and the relay just to be sure the old relay doesn't give up after you put in a new pump. HTH
