96 chevy s10 engine turns ,but no fire
replace the crankshaft position sensor , thats where i'd start looking
check for spark at spark plug end of wires. if good, go to fuel system checks. if no, check for spark from coil. if okay, replace cap, rotor and wires, perhaps plugs. if no, it could be the coil. check for power on the + side and a ground signal on the - side while cranking. if okay, suspect coil. if no, suspect crank sensor or distributor/ignition module. if ignition checks okay, check for fuel pressure. if no, suspect fuel pump/filter. if okay, check for power and ground signal to injectors while cranking. if no, suspect cam sensor/possible pcm. if okay, try cranking with pedal pressed fully to the floor. this is "clear-flood mode". if the vehicle now starts, suspect mass air flow sensor. if no, you may have a mechanical issue or a bad injection module.
