1996 Chevy S-10 pickup - 4x4 - 4.3L - V6 -- Won't start
Good morning everyone,
I have a 1996 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. 4x4, 4.3L, V6
I was driving to work and the truck simply died while driving. I tried starting it and only got a clicking sound while trying to turn it over. I managed to get it towed back to my apartment to start assessing the situation. I soon found that the battery was completely dead except that I had just bought this battery about 3 weeks ago. I did the following so far:
1. Replaced the alternator
2. Replaced the spark plugs
3. Replaced the battery
4. (Unrelated) Replaced the serpentine belt
After replacing the battery last night, I tried to start it up. I had lights and power again. I turned the key and it tried to start. It attempted to turn over but never got started. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look at next?
You may have a problem with the ignition coil, or fuel pump. Need to check and see if you are getting fuel and spark or not before you can go further.
make sure your ground wire from battery to frame is clean and tight. same with starter cables.
make sure you have fule lol and check battery terminals
check the pickup in the distruber or the module by the coil with the 2 screws n it and plug
Fuel pressure test
check engine light? pull codes should be obd2 is starter cranking full speed if not starter may be bad my blazer did the same thing
Starter or alternator will run a battery down and make it go bad
