Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1996 chevy extended cab that has been
rolled and I'm going to replace the cab. Are all the
cabs from 1988 to 1999 the same or do I need a

More information is needed. Chevy did a incremental changeover with the 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. You have to determine if you have a GMT400 or the newer GMT800, then find a truck with compatible wiring to your motor and trim level on your truck.

Ok. How do I find that information. What if it's a bare she'll and I change everything over wiring harnesses and all.

Thanks again.

A 96 is a gmt400. You need a 96+ gmt400 cab. The next generation is gmt800. It started in 99 but the 2500 and 3500 held on till 2000 and share the same cab.
