Question type: Maintenance & Repair

ok guys so I have a 99 s10 that jerks randomly at random speeds. I notice that when the truck starts its jerking the thermostat plays too. it just dies out then comes back and dies out again. especially when I floor it. the engine is rebuit so everthing is pretty new as far as gaskets, sparkplugs, injectors(spider).
the truck also sometimes just turns off too. its very rare but it has happened.
Does anybody know how the jerking and thermostat wil have anything in connection? if you have any idea even if its crazy let me know. 2 heads is better than one!

Sounds like a intermittent connection problem or a ground, and believe me this can be a very frustrating problem. As this has had work done to it start by checking all of the sensor and main grounds, have seen a lot of problems at the main ground stud on the top of the engine, it appears tight but some of the wiring is broken inside the insulation, another problem is the main power wire that feeds the power distribution box, both at the battery and the box itself burning connections. Of course there are relays that can cause something simular, if the internal points are pitted they can over heat and break connection intermittently, or if the springs are weak even simple road shock can cause intermittent connections.
