2002 chevy s10 has no power at all..
I had my truck at the shop for the past month trying to find out what's wrong .
It is burning very rich for some reason and the plugs are covered in black after
it runs for a min. It has no power to it at all. On sensor changed wires and plugs
changed valves and hoses checked no problem there. Now guy says he wants
to replace fuel pump. Before I sink money into something I want to know
what's wrong. Can someone please tell me what the problem is? I am a female
and don't want to be fooled by a mechanic. PLEASE HELP!!!
If you have the V6 engine my first suspect is the spider fuel injector assembly. They're prone to failure and will dump fuel when they fail. My next suspect would be the fuel pressure regulator. HTH. -Jim
