Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No mechanics have been able to crack this one
yet...
I have an '05 Honda CR-V made in England.
180,000+ miles. Never had a problem once it's
driving. I seem to lose power once I leave it for over
4-5 hours. I try to start it and it just has no power
(like a dead battery), or a little, but not enough to
turn it over. Brought it to two different mechanics.
Neither know what's going on. Battery is new,
tested and is good. Alternator works. Connnections
are tight. Ground straps look good. Relays aren't
drawing power...
Car wouldn't start yesterday and it was at 12.12 on
the multimeter. Once I jump it it's fine. When I get to
work I disconnect the battery so it doesn't drain and
I have no problems with It when I come back out
and reconnect it, because it doesn't lose any power.
Seems the problem is im losing amperage to start it
when I let it sit for a while. Only one time have I shut
off the car, tried to start it immediately after and it
wouldn't start. HELP!

The correct way to find the problemis. turn off the car and all electrical. Close the door put a multi meter with an amp setting. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Put negative wire from multi meter on battery terminal and positive on batter cable end. Wait a minute for lights and stuff to time out. It should read less than .002. I'm guessing your will be around .3. Than pull fuses 1 by 1. When you find the circuit with the problem it will read less than .002. Than see what on that circuit. It's usually a light that stays on in trunk or glove compartment or something.

So I disconnect the negative terminal, put the negative end of multimeter on the negative terminal, and the positive end of multimeter on positive battery terminal? Then wait until it's under .002, and pull fuses one by one? What am I looking for on the multimeter? If it's already less than .002 do I wait for it to drop lower or be higher?? Thank you!
