I gave a coworker a jump and now my CEL is on. I

scan the code and get the definition and don't give jump starts with newer cars , like so many other things in todays world they can't handle adversity

Have the code scanned at a local auto parts store. This is usually a free service. Do not buy any parts based on what the guy at the parts store tells you is wrong with your car. Post the trouble code(s) here or do some Google searching on the code to see what the problem might be.
