How many Honda CRV's have ha a history of Torque Converter problems?

Asked by Dec 06, 2013 at 03:54 PM about the 2006 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 Honda CRV seems to shudder and vibrate once I reach between 40 and 50 mph. Once it happens, I let off the gas and then press on the gas peddle again and it stops.  My other alternative is I sometimes press the gas peddle to increase my speed over 50 mph and it stops.

Kind of hard to put a number on it. Seems like you found a way around it. I think your vehicle has an O/D lockout button on the shifter? Press that to lock out O/D if your traveling around in the 40-50 range. That should help a lot. Also have you changed the transmission fluid yet? If your over 60K miles, I would have it drained and refilled, it might help the shifting and a lot cheaper than a rebuild.
