Does my Crown Victoria use steel gears or cast iron gears in the distributor?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I have a 1983 Ford LTD Crown Victoria 5.0 TBI.  Looking at replacing the distributor as well as the cap and rotor.  What I need to know (besides the vacuum deal) is if it uses steel gears or cast iron gears.  I know that it's important to know this as using the wrong one will mess with the camshaft.

If it is stock then it is most likely it is cast. Remember like the man said" if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
