cant keep my 1974 bronco on its a v8 302 put in a new carb it turns over but wont stay on

Are you getting fuel to the carb? Is the float for carb properly set?

I hope you kept the old carburetor! I can guarantee the one you got from the auto parts store is wrong! I would strongly recommend having the original carburetor rebuilt and reinstalled. Each carburetor has a model number which is vehicle (year, make and model) specific. You may now have a carburetor that was originally on a '73 LTD or '68 Galaxy, etc. Assuming the carburetor was the problem to begin with have the original rebuilt and go from there. HTH. -Jim
