Just recently had a friend call me because having same problem as you he said took battery to autozone to have it tested they said it was good after checking out it was the battery starting up and running good now after replacing battery.

If you haven't done this already, remove the battery cables from the battery and clean them well. Also the posts on the battery. When reconnecting, make sure they are good and tight. It does sound like the battery is some how at fault since the engine runs with the jumper cable source but dies when removed. A loose connection could be the problem.
