some one tried to steal my battery, I got it put back together, but now a weird noise is coming from the engine when I start the truck. does something need to be reset?

Who knows what they may have done when trying to steel, look to see that there is nothing rubbing on the fan, serpentine belt, alternator, in that area of rotating parts.
