to chang wheels or not to change that is the question
ok so i have a 1988 mustang curintly I'm running 14in american raceing whells with humko wheels 195/65/14.. i need new tires but want to go wider.. I have coming ot me 17in stock rims off a 93 mustang with pirelli tires not sure what size.. i guess what I'm wondering is is which is gonna give me teh better handeling as well as what are all teh pros and cons between the two
no real pros or cons they both look good only thing with the wider 17,s is cost and weather winter that is.
As long as your car has a good suspension and steering ( not worn out ) , upgrading to larger/wider wheels will help . Even stock 1988 aluminum wheels would be an improvement ( 15' rims ) A big help would be to make sure you have good front struts and rear shocks . Upgrading suspension for handling can make a huge difference , such as lowered springs , heavier duty front and rear stabilizer bars , upgraded neoprene bushings for the bars and lower front control arms . The list can go on and on , only lack of cash will hold you back .
