Did you check the timing? Since you were need the distributor you might have rotated it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqVzHmpSdsk Did you try cleaning the throttle body and IAC?....

Right Tom. A lot of people don't know to pull the SPOUT connector to properly set the ignition Timing. If they don't, there is no telling where they may have set the timing. Cleaning the Throttle Body and IAC and resetting the Idle strategy is a good idea too. It's a little tricky to get the Distributor to line up properly while engaging the oil pump drive. A remote start button comes in handy. Make sure to set the Crank to TDC and the Distributor rotor to the #1 tower, disconnect the SPOUT, set the timing to 10 degrees BTDC. Shut it down, plug in the SPOUT and reset the Idle by allowing it to idle in Drive for a couple of minutes, with all of the accessories turned on for a couple of minutes and at complete Neutral for a couple of minutes.

Yea I marked were my distributer was before I turned it. And I installed the tfi and lined it back up. I cranked it and it run smooth for a couple of minutes then it went dead. And cranked rite back up but wouldn't idle now it won't crank at all could the tfi I bought when bad ?
