Mach 1-Check Engine Light

Asked by Jun 17, 2015 at 02:47 PM about the 1970 Ford Mustang

Question type: General

Can anyone tell me if a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 had a check engine light? (I am an author and this is a research question.) If no, what is the first model year to have one?

Thank you!

No, you need to do some more research. Computer's weren't installed into cars until the 1980's.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OBD-II#OBD-II

Thank you.

My 1976 Ford does not. All 1996 to present do, with OBDII, and my 1990 Lincoln had one. Depending on the manufacturer, they began to appear on cars in the mid '80's. Couldn't find Mustang specific

Found it. First Mustang 1984 and by 1986 (1987 model year) all.
