How much is 1983 V6 Auto transmission cost?

Asked by Feb 07, 2007 at 06:04 AM about the 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There's this 1983 2.8L, V6 Auto Camaro on the market, but it needs a new transmission. How much does the trans usually cost, cuz as far as I know, without the trans, it will only go 60km top.

Hello MrHappy-- A little research on www.google.com nd you can find a transmission for $300 on up. Of course that is just the tip of the iceberg when you add labor costs. An example of what you might find thrugh a search engine is http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1313. I hope you have success because the car won't go far without a transmission, except maybe straight downhill. Good luck from Bovan.
