where is the fuel pump located on my 1988 Chevy Camaro
In your fuel tank.
tHANKS! THAT NARROWS IT DOWN....I MENT is thhere a way through the interior ,like unde a panel behind the seat or is it a tank that I have to drop my old lady lost my book.I'm no pro but I gotta get this thing running can you specify for me?1988 CAMARO 350 THROTTLE BODY CARB.
A simlper way is to add a aftermarket electric fuel pumo. splice into the line, hook up the voltage wire and you are in business. Or you get to drop the tank and replace with a stock one. I like the aftermarket better myself.
Never done anything like that .Sure sounds a lot better than all that sweat and labor .Thanks a bunch.
is it carburated or fuel injection? fuel injection is in the tank , just lower it down on a jack, slowly and disconnect the lines & hoses, clean off the nut good so no dirt falls into the tank, remove the lock nut & O-ring & pull out the pump. when you put it back grease the O-ring. if you have a carb it on the passenger side of the block.
on camaro s you neeed to lower rear differntail first then tank , yes lots of work
Probably too late but I've done a couple by just pulling up the carpet in the hatch area and cutting a hole in the floor the pump is right on top of the tank this way. Just don't cut too far down, once done carpet goes back over and no one knows but you. The "right" way does require lots of work and replacing any rusty parts you break along the way i.e. tank straps fuel lines brake lines axle shackles etc.
