Trouble Starting

Asked by Nonmechanic81 Jul 04, 2012 at 07:21 PM about the 1993 Toyota Paseo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is there a sensor on the clutch that lets it know to start? Having trouble starting the car. Is not the starter. The battery connections are fine and getting plenty of power. If I keep pressing the clutch over and over every once in a while the thing will finally start. If so then how do I go about fixing the problem?

YES THERE IS. MOST ARE LOCATED UNDER THE DASH AND WHEN THE THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED THE SWITCH OR BUTTON IS RELEASED AND THE STARTER WILL ENGAGE. SOME TIMES THE SWITCH WILL SLIP OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND THE CAR WILL NOT START. OR YOU MAY BE ABLE TO ADJUST THE SWITCH AND IT WILL WORK.
