Sometimes my key doesnt turn the ignition on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. The ignition wont turn its like it is stuck. I have to keep turning the steering back and forth to help it it seems.
first try and spray lube...wd40 in it and work it !!!
I'd never put WD40 in any ignition key way or lock. Please use graphite. A Teflon based lube is better than WD40, but graphite is the best way to lubricate any lock. The problem may be a simple as turning your wheels straight when you stop he car so the steering wheel lock is not putting pressure on the ignition release. Hard to avoid when parking on a hill. Good luck!
I've seen his happen in my Tacoma and also in different model/make vehicles. It's never been worth it to me to send to a mechanic, but if it's a real pain and lube and wheel position don't fix it, definitely take it to a shop.
