Check Engine and VSC lights?
My Check Engine and VSC lights came on today. (I don't know if this is related: I lightly
rear ended someone this morning, not enough that there was any physical damage on the
car or on his car, But I've driven the car twice since then and the second time was when
the lights came on, so is it possible they're unrelated?) I don't know what they mean I
need to do, I'm not a car person by any means. I just want to know what that means I
have to do, or what could have caused it. Help please.
Sure, the two lights are related. Whenever the ECM or Computer of the car detects a fault, both light will illuminate. You can find the source of the problem by scanning the computer or "pulling the codes". These codes will tell you what is causing the CEL and VSC to illuminate. A garage, or any local auto parts store (free) will scan the car for you. Post the 4 digit code back here and we help further. Without the code we'd only be guessing.
