How long does it take (on average) to do a timing belt change etc on a Subaru Legacy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just wondering what the approximate time required for doing a timing belt change.  Need to take car into the city to get the job done and need to plan the day.

It depends on the shop, usually it will take 1-2 days of actual work because most shops have to pull the engine to do a Subaru timing belt. But unless they have the parts already there when you drop the car off you may be waiting on parts as well so I would personally budget your expectations to 3-4 days depending on how fast they actually get to it, how fast they get parts and how fast they work.
