2001 Outback fuel level sending unit cover bolts
Does anyone know the size of the bolts that hold the gasket on the fuel sending unit I went to the dealer and they wanted $7.50 for one I tried the local parts store and they couldn't ,match them up . these are the bolts on the gasket itself not the cover that is over the sending unit . Thanks My car is the 2.5 engine
Try your local hardware store, Home Depot, or Lowe's. Take one of the other bolts with you. At the NAPA store where I work we have a bolt and nut sizer. Places like those I've mentioned should as well and be able to match up your bolt no problem. -Jim
I went to two hardware stores and two auto part stores no one has the correct bolt ,the bolt itself has a the threads at the bottom with about 4 or 5 threads showing and then it has a barrel type covering on the rest of the threads I think it is made that way so that the gas doesn't leak past the bolts
I see. Sounds like a pretty unique bolt. See if you can get a part number from Subaru. If you have a NAPA store nearby ask them to try to changeover that part number to their NOE, BK, or RFD lines. I'm thinking NOE (NAPA Original Equipment) is your best bet. We can get some pretty oddball stuff through that line. HTH. -Jim
Thanks I will see if i can get the subaru part number I work for autozone maybe i can get the cross reference number with the oem number I know it isn't a stocked item
You're welcome. Glad to help. -Jim
the part number they have does not look like the flange bolt that is in my subaru
What part number do you have? I'll try to look it up. I tried looking it up by application but had no luck. -Jim
42058*A FLANGE BOLT . NO.1 These are the bolts that hold the fuel pump and sending unit underneath the cover for the fuel pump thanks the one on the subaru site ar not the right ones mine have a barrel type fitting
here is a picture of the type of bolt I am looking for
I was able to cross the part number over............to a PCV Grommet. Unfortunately that's the only thing, in our system that the part number crosses over to. Try Fastenal. They have a website. We frequently refer customers there as well. Good luck with this. HTH. - Jim
