Need a little help

I'm helping a friend out and he has a 1996 sunfire
that someone put sugar down into and we have a
engine out of a 2000 sunfire can we swap these
engine's and what all would it take thank you in
advance

How do you know it was sugar? Sugar doesn't mix with gasoline, so it would just sink to the bottom of the tank. Maybe the fuel filter is just clogged.

I pulled the intake and it has carmelized sugar as far as I can see and feel
