i have a 1998 sunfire that wont crank or start. It clicks 1 time when i try to start it

First thing to check is the battery terminal ends and the battery voltage. Dirty connections can cause the connection to fail. Do the lights go out after the click? If the voltage is good (12+) and stays at 12V and a single click, probably a bad starter.
