my ABS light and the "trac off" light are always on. is there a way to turn the trac ON?
have a 2000 Pontiac grand am. the ABS light never goes off; same with the "trac off" light. having driven a vehicle where the ABS worked; and I could turn the "trac" off and on (turning a 2-wheel drive vehicle into 4). is there a button or something to turn the trac ON???
The ABS computer has detected a problem with the anti-lock brake (ABS) system. The anti-lock brake system and the traction control system work together. When a problem is detected both systems are disabled and both lights come on to alert you there's a problem. It's most likely a wheel speed sensor for the ABS. These sensors are part of the wheel bearing hub assembly and are prone to failure. HTH. -Jim
