2000 Pontiac Bonneville

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville and it won't shift into park. I put my regular break down and shift out of drive and once I get to reverse it won't go any further. It stops right before park. Can anyone help me out please?

Do you have to move the shifter towards you by any chance? Mine is when you come out of park it is not straid down you have to move it to the right to get it gear and for park you have pull to the left or sometimes ther is a botton on side of the shifter you need to push. Is it on the floor or the colum? if on the colum you have to pull the shifter lever towards you than go up
