Question type: Car Customization

can i install a 2002 2.2L ecotec 4 cyl. out of an alero into a 2005 grand am with 6 cyl. motor if i use the tranny and motor

It should bolt right in. You will have to swap the ECU. Before installing the '02 ecotec, replace the timing chain and it's oiling components. Some of the early four bangers have been known to break the chain which wipes out the valves and somtimes the pistons. Replacing the water pump while the engine is out wouldn't be a bad thing.
