coolant loss on a 2006 grand prix.
06 grand prix, 3800 series 3 motor. coolant dripping under car, no signs of where from under hood. hoses are good, water pump gasket looks good. dripping from passenger side. just wondering what else it could be.
That is where the hoses goes into the firewall to the heater core, thats where you leak may be...
could the heater core leak outside the firewall. they usually leak inside the vehicle. didn't see anything running down the firewall.
Sure it is not the water pump? They start leaking threw the weep hole behind the pulley under the pump. If it is the heater core leaking outside the fire wall one of the hoses should be wet. Run your fingers along them as far as you can to the fire wall, see if you pick up anything.
It's most likely the heater hose elbows. It's plastic and cracks easily. Replace it with aluminum ones, Dorman part #47065HP
Agree with Dorian. The heater hose elbows are about to fail. Replace them right away. One of them will let go, probably withing the next week or so and you'll loose all your coolant and possibly end up stranded and needing a tow truck. Been there, done that, didn't enjoy it.
