i have a 96 nissan sentra .. it will start but when i turn the steering wheel to the left if shuts off..what can it be???

Sounds like the power steering fluid pressure switch is bad. This switch increases the idle speed to compensate for the added load of the increased pressure in the power steering system when you turn the wheel all the way in one direction. HTH. -Jim
