The only transmission that has no slip is a manual transmission all the slip is taken up by the clutch and that is why you have to replace them sometimes. Now if your talking about differentials you will only find true lock ups in off road vehicles that have a device that locks the spider gears so they both turn the same direction at the same time, most common are limited slip differentials, they allow you to be able to make normal everyday turns without engaging the clutches and locking in the spider gears to drove both wheels to turn equally, the real way to tell is by blocking the wheels so it won't roll away, jacking up the differential, in nuetral turn the driveline, both tires should rotate the same direction, if one tire rotates one and the other side rotates the opposite you have a standard differential.
