Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased a new battery as the fittings on the old one were corroded. I could not get it to turn over, but lights and everything else was functioning. When I dropped in the new battery, still would not turnover. anyway of testing to see if alternator is gone as well. Is there a reset button that I'm not aware of?

There is no reset button. However if you bring it in to your local Midas or really any car service place, they can check your alternator.

Hey, sorry for answering so late 09/17/2017, but this may still help someone else like I just went thru that last week when my Xterra 2001 die while going to work, It was not oil, or battery, or gas, or alternator or radiator, but Timing belt!. Towed to home and on my two day off I manage to do the replacement as shown on great detail on StevexNYCperformance Youtube videos 1,2,3 parts.Check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niFCBuOD9qk
