why is my 2004 Nissan murano AWD on in my dash? how do you turn it off and on?
I just bought this SUV and decided to turn on the awd to see if it worked and nothing happens when I press AWD lock button but I noticed that on the dashboard the AWD light is on. I read the manual and it is not clear.
When you activate the AWD lock button it overrides the computer control of the AWD system and put it into a 50/50 split of the power to the wheels and locks it there, this setting should never be used on hard dry surface, it is intended for bad weather with greatly reduced speeds and to get you out if you get stuck in snow or mud, not real good on ice though, tends to drift one way or the other, but what rig is good on ice. Remember this rig is in AWD all of the time, you don't feel it cause the sensors and computers are balancing the power wheel to wheel as you are driving down the road.
