2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid won't start

Asked by Guru9ZDXBL Nov 25, 2020 at 02:52 AM about the 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Symptoms:

1. AC stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I try to use it, air will
come out, but just room temp air, and I hear a slight whirring sound.
2. Could not fill up gas tank a couple of days ago because the gas pump would
keep shutting off before I could get much gas out of it. Yes, I tried a different
pump with the same issue. I managed to get $10 worth of gas (about a 1/4 tank).
3. Today, the car engine will not start. The car turns on, but I cannot get the
engine to start. When I press the start button it feels like the engine is stuck. I
didn't really notice any sounds other than it sounding like it was stuck.

Not sure if the AC is related to the other two problems...but they all happened
one after the other which makes me think it's maybe related?

Thoughts?

I'm going to take my car to the mechanic tomorrow, but just wanting to get an
idea of what to expect, and how much the repair would cost.

Check fluid levels, if you have a coolant leak that could cause the heater not to be putting out hot air. If its low but not finding any leaks under car, its possible that it leaked down into cylinders, and then into oil. If that happened it would most likely mean a blown head gasket. If it's been that way for a while, it could mean that the oil wasn't able to properly lubricate the engine and could have caused it to seize up. (Hoping that's not the case, but it is a worst case scenario)
